Signup Table Procedure
Before each Men's Club round on Wednesday it is necessary for the registered players to go to the signup table, pay their fees and get their score card and team information. The process involved can be greatly expedited if everyone follows the below suggestions and arrives well before the end of the signup period. Also, please don't assume that all the folks working the signup table know your name. When you approach the first station, please announce your last name loudly enough that everyone on the table can hear it. This will help greatly in reducing the time it takes to get you signed in.
Green Fees
The first station is where you initial next to your name to pay your green fees or present evidence that you have paid them in the pro shop. If you have paid your fees in the pro shop please show the person staffing this station your receipt. If not, find your name on the list and initial it to give the pro shop authority to add the fees to your monthly HOA bill.
Tournament Fee
The next station is where you pay your tournament fee. For normal tournaments the fee is five dollars ($5.00) and for luncheon day tournaments the fee is twenty dollars ($20). On luncheon days the full fee must be paid whether or not you intend to go to the luncheon. The tournament fee is used to finance the various prizes awarded for the winning teams, closest to the pin, etc. Please have the correct amount of money available. Every time it is necessary to make change the line slows down. Anything over a $20 bill may not be accepted.
Score Card/Team Information
The next station is where you will be given your score card, unless it has already been issued to another member of your team. This is also where you can get information about the names of the other members of your foursome and your assigned starting hole.
Humanitarian
Every two weeks there is a last station for donations to the Humanitarian hole event. For that event, our club designates one of our par three holes as the "Humanitarian" hole. If you donate five dollars to this cause you will be given 30% of the donations for that day if you are closest to the pin on the designated hole. Please remember, if you have not donated, don't put your name on the CP marker for the designated hole. The designated hole will be clearly marked as the Humanitarian hole. The proceeds not won will be given to a charity chosen by your board.
Hours
The signup table is usually open for business one and a half hours before the announced tee time and it closes one half hour before the tee time. For example, if the tee time is 8:00 a.m., the signup table will be open at 6:30 a.m. and will close at 7:30 a.m. When closing time arrives, the signup table staff will fill any vacancies with golfers who have appeared to request standby status. If you are registered to play but arrive after the table has closed, you might well be denied entrance to the tournament, especially if your spot has been given to a standby player. There is usually a large number of players signing up at the last minute, so please try to come earlier. If you want to hit balls, please go to the signup table before going to the range.
Registration
There are two ways to register. The most commonly used way is to log onto our website and go to the Signup page and enter the required information. If you do that you'll receive a confirming email. The other method is to call 760-862-5727 and leave a message. However, whichever way you choose to register, please remember that the cutoff for registration is 5:00 p.m. on Friday. If you register after that you might not be able to play. If the tournament is a "pick your partner" event, please try to coordinate with the golfers you wish to partner with to avoid the problem of golfers being partnered with more than one foursome (it happens).
Finding your Team
After you have completed the signup process the next task is to find the other members of your foursome. If you know all the other players this will not be difficult but if you don't the first step should be to use one of the plastic cones with your hole number. Put the cone on the roof of your cart so that others can see it. If that doesn't work, try asking other players. Most of our players will be more than happy to help you find your team mates.
